Anyone else carry a bag that could double as your weekend holdall, on a daily basis?
Between uni, running/workouts, nannying and a long commute, I’m often out of the house from 6am-10pm, meaning I need to cover a lot of bases with the kit in my bag. I obviously have the basics like phone, purse, keys (which I can almost never find because I forget to use that little side pocket),
Within my bag on a regular basis is;
a pair of running trainers – these Gola pair are honestly the lightest pair I’ve ever felt. Whilst I wouldn’t run over 5K in these, they are perfect for a quick session at the Altitude Centre, a quick run with the dogs where I nanny, or a last minute gym class. I also often keep a rolled up tank, pair of leggings and sports bra tucked into my bag.
metal bottle – I love the fact that you can get either your coffee/tea or water in a metal bottle. I love my Swell bottle but have been using this personalised bottle from my trip to Tennessee. I’m really trying to reduce my waste from my morning coffee habit (did you know that those cups aren’t recyclable?)
my glasses – I always get questions about these when I’m wearing them on my Instagram stories – they’re from a lovely shop in London called Bailey Nelson who offer great value prescription glasses and sunglasses.
hand cream and lip balm – my hands are pretty much always cold and they dry out really easily. I keep hand cream in all of my handbags (something I picked up from my Mum). Running during the winter – or just generally being outside – is brutal on my skin and I find I lip my lips a lot when they dry out. I’ve been using the new Liz Earle Superskin Superlip balm that acts as a balm, moisturiser and gloss.
make up bag – guilty, I put my make up on the train on the way to London most mornings.
snacks – have you ever been around me when I’m hangry? It’s not a pretty sight. I always keep a snack bar in my bag just in case – loving these Love Raw Cacao and Maca bars, they’re really dense and chocolatey.
my laptop – I take this into London with me most days to utilise my commute time, download my lectures etc. I was recently loaned the new MacBook Pro by Apple and it’s AMAZING – the new touch bar and updated iMovie make youtube videos so quick to make – so many quick shortcuts. Plus it’s a lot lighter than my old one which helps with bag weight.
the bag – this Aspinal bag is firmly on my birthday wish list – the Marlyebone Tech tote is every bloggers dream. Not only are there big pockets deisgned specifically for your phone and tablet (it also fit my laptop no problem) but there’s a charger pack that goes with the bag to make sure you never run out of battery and miss the Instagram story 😉
What’s the weirdest thing you keep in your handbag? I also usually have an assortment of pens, train tickets, napkins from Pret, and other bits and bobs.
