30 Min Lunchbreak Treadmill Workout

Jan 17, 2014 | Running | 5 comments

I completed this workout during my lunch break on Tuesday, having got some inspiration from Julie’s workouts on PBfingers. If I go to the gym without a plan I am far less efficient, so I usually write down a rough game plan before I hit the treadmill. At the moment, I’m trying to build my speed back up after a long break of running slow, so this was the perfect way to warm my legs (and lungs) back up! Feel free to tone down the speed and incline (or ramp it up!)- it’s best to work at your own ability while still pushing yourself.

I loved all the comments on my post about looking after your feet and knees. I’m currently looking in to having some running lessons to try to improve my gait and to reduce my heel strike!

Feel free to look at my treadmill workout pinterest board for inspiration, and please leave a link in the comments of any workouts that you love and want to see added to the board. I’m going to be pinning more to it in the next few days so that I have no excuse next time I hit the gym!

The > only < way I can run on a treadmill is if I do a speed workout. Otherwise, I get soooo bored, but sometimes running outside just isn’t an option! Glad I found your blog! I lived in London for 4 months and loved it!

Thanks for reading! I agree if you’re doing a long slowish run on the treadmill it can be really dull!

I literally have no idea how I’d even get past 2 minutes on a treadmill so am a bit in awe here! Although my ‘I’m not doing new year’s resolutions’ new years resolution is to actually make use of my Virgin Active membership (which I’ve used ZERO times in the last 2 months!) so I may well have to take a plunge into your Pinterest board yet. Eeek!

I find mixing up speeds and inclines makes the time pass faster as you just work in 1 or 2 minute increments! Give it a go, it’s great for speed work.
