Halloween Themed Fitness Classes & Runs in London

Oct 26, 2015 | Uncategorized | 2 comments

I love Halloween and only wish it was a bigger deal here in the UK. It’s certainly growing but not nearly fast enough in my opinion. One thing I do love is the fact that you should go as something scary in the UK- although I’m pretty sure a black cat (black outfit with ears) is not scary to anyone. My favourite costume was the year I went as a Corpse Bride, gotta love going as the Devil too.

This year as I don’t have a Halloween party I’m making my own Halloween fitness weekend, starting on Friday night with a barre class and going all the way through to Sunday with a 5K trick or treat run. Here are some of the classes/events I’m attending along with some other awesome ideas to get your sweat on this Hallows Eve.

Thriller Dance Class

Ever wanted to learn the Thriller dance routine to ‘impress’ friends and family? Well Frame are giving you the chance to acquire a new party trick with their one-off workshop- zombie attire optional. Book here for a Saturday afternoon to remember.

Run (away)

I’m heading to Osterley Park again this year to take part in their Night Run, opting for the 2K in fancy dress this year on Saturday 31st. Post race historial horror tours will be taking place in the house after the run, and I’m hoping that we’ll be early enough for the apple bobbing and marshmallow roasting that we missed last year.

If one run isn’t enough then get yourself down to Richmond Park for their 2K, 5K and 10K Trick or Treat runs on Sunday 1st November. The themed route will take you past skeletons, wicked witches and zombies-suitable for all ages and levels. Sign up here.

Test your fight or flight reflexes in a Zombie hunt around Clapham Common, and try to make it through the night without getting caught in the zombie apocalypse. This is not one for the faint hearted and actually sounds terrifying to me! Sign up here for £10, Friday 30th at 7pm.

Spinning Classes

Try an Edge Cycle Halloween special– work hard, play hard with a spin class to make you sweat (fitness fancy dress is encouraged) followed by drinks and an after party. £15 buys your ticket and a free drink plus plenty of treats. Friday 30th 7.30pm – find out more here

Feel the Burn

Join the Sweaty Betty team at Barrecore Chiswick for a FREE Halloween themed class that will get your legs and abs burning. Sign up opens on Wednesday for the Friday evening class– I’m hoping to make it along to this for my first post marathon barre class!

Spooktacular Aerobics

Slice studios are hosting a spooktacular aerobics class with a blood pumping playlist during the thrilling class. I’m not sure whether this is a trick or a treat but the cafe downstairs will definitely be serving some delicious post class goodies on Saturday 31st at 10.15am. Find out more here.

On Halloween I shall be running the Dusk ’til Dawn ultra – 50 miles through the night in the Peak District chased by the Grim Reaper!
My birthday falls on Halloween so we always try to do something a little fun to celebrate.
