Rooftop Yoga London

May 23, 2014 | Uncategorized | 1 comment

What could be better than starting the day with yoga in the sunshine, under the impressive St Paul’s Cathedral and enjoying a stunning panoramic over London?
A FREE yoga class!!

The lovely ladies at Blue Cow Yoga are hosting two morning rooftop yoga classes on One New Change in the heart of The City. I managed to snag myself a place in both classes! The first was held on Wednesday morning, and the next one will be on the 11th June at 7.15am (Sadly it is now fully booked).
I met Leah at Bank station and we made our way up to the rooftop to be greeted by Aoife, bright sunshine and clear blue skies. I’d never been to the roof terrace of One New Change before, but I definitely will be going again, it would make a lovely location to enjoy an urban picnic lunch or cocktails after work.
Considering it was 6.55am, everyone was remarkably cheerful and chatty- guess the sunshine brings out the best in everyone!
Leah and I positioned ourselves at the front of the class, I definitely don’t often do this as my poor yoga skills mean I am tempted to hide in the back!

I haven’t been to a yoga class for a while, but I loved it. I could feel that I’ve lost a lot of flexibility and strength that I gained during my 21 day challenge back in Jan, but I remember the poses so don’t feel like a total beginner.
We did some great hip and quad stretches that my poor little legs found very challenging. Particularly some of the lunge moves. I’ve decided that my new favourite pose is Aeroplane, particularly when practised with only the sky above me!

If only every Wednesday morning could start like this….
