I remember three years ago sitting at my computer at work hitting refresh over and over to secure tickets for the first Colour Run in Wembley. We were so excited to receive our bibs, t-shirts and headbands, having seen photos of the ‘happiest 5K’s on the planet’ from around the world.
In very un-British weather, it was scorching. We melted waiting in the hot sun for the 2pm start, although at least the sweat gave the paint more to stick to, right?
I ran the race again in 2014 and felt a little more prepared. We had matching tulle skirts, throwaway sunnies and old trainers.
My Mum even announced a couple of months ago that she was planning on running the Color Run this Summer – it’s certainly not a fast race so perfect for those who want to complete a fun, easy paced 3 miler. I wish I could run it with her, but my Summer weekends are full of weddings and hen dos – and now I’m going to be planning my own!!! More about this in tomorrow’s blog!
The team behind The Color Run presented by Skittles have got 5 pairs of tickets to the Glasgow Color Run on the 17th July, and 5 pairs of tickets to the Color Run in Brighton on the 17th September, plus Skittles hoodies for everyone that wins!
To win you just have to comment below letting me know your favourite SKITTLE colour and which location you’d like the tickets to. Mine is Red (I love all red sweets!) Did you know they give our free Skittles at the end of all the races – you might want to wash your hands before tucking in!
And it’s not just UK Color Runs that you can win tickets to… Skittles is also giving you the chance to win bibs for the Los Angeles Color Run (that truly would be the happiest 5K!)
Thanks to Skittles, you and a friend could win the chance to stay at one of LA’s top hotels for five nights and will even get to see the sights in your own retro convertible car for a day. Buckle up, throw on those shades and let the LA breeze swoosh through your hair! The fabulous prize also includes two tickets to a fun-filled night at The Comedy Store or tickets to the colourful Getty Museum, plus $400 to help with some retail therapy. To be in with a chance of winning, head over to the Skittles Facebook page and leave a comment on the competition post, telling Skittles who you’d take to the Color Run and why, using #RunTheRainbow.
The LA competition closes at midnight on 30.09.2016. It is open to UK residents (England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales) aged 18 and over. Terms and conditions apply – visit www.wrigley.com/uk for full details.
