$How do you find balance in your life? Not asking for a friend! 🤦🏻‍♀️ad These past few weeks have been so out of balance, with work taking priority over everything else. There\'s been high stress levels, insomnia, poor food choices (related to stress & exhaustion) and not a whole lot of running. That\'s working in healthcare during a pandemic I guess...🤷🏻‍♀️ If your life gets out of balance, how do you try to get it back? Prioritised getting out for a 20 minute run this morning before getting in early before a big meeting at work. I feel like I\'m going backwards in terms of running progression...back to calling 20 minutes a win! Also some new kit from @underarmouruk definitely helped motivate me this morning! @uarunning #UAHOVR @underarmouruk$

They have everything from beginner bookkeeping to more complex coding courses, they take anything from 2 hours to 40+hours. Lockdown 2.0 is the perfect time to bolster your knowledge. Personally I\'m taking the Digital Skills for Social Media and Fundamentals of Digital Marketing (which I\'m planning on completing over the next few months) to help continue to grow and share on The Runner Beans. I\'m also planning to take the Presenting with Impact course to help improve my patient communication for our online groups. I love that these courses are free and available to everyone to help people with digital and numeracy skills to progress at work and bolster job prospects, delivered by The Open University, Amazon, Google, FutureLearn and LinkedIn, What\'s on your list for Lockdown 2.0? $Trail running tips for beginners (like me!) I\'ve been trying to add more trail miles into my plan, particularly at the weekend when I have more time to explore, and a couple of mornings a week where I work 9.30-5.30. I asked @salomonrunning ambassador @rachrunsoutdoors to share some tips to help improve my trail running experiences and wanted to pass them on... (check out @sherunsoutdoorsuk) ➡️ it takes confidence to run trails, confidence you can gain by getting out there and running on them! It\'s a chance to escape everyday life, challenge yourself and find beautiful running spots. ➡️Wear a good pair of trail shoes! They protect your feet and provide the right grip needed to run off road. Consider the time of year, types of trails and your personal preference. Salomon has a great shoe finder feature that can help. (I\'ve been running in the Wildcross for the past month and they\'re comfortable, and provide enough grip for the muddy trails I\'ve been exploring). ➡️Don\'t worry about the pace on your watch. Think more about your perceived effort...the terrain is going to dictate your pace. Leave the ego at home! ➡️Watch out for obstacles like rocks, tree roots and uneven surfaces but try to look ahead as you run and resist the urge to look down at your feet. Focus on what is five or 10 steps ahead of you instead. ➡️When running uphill, take it slowly and gradually. Keep your posture tall, looking up the hill and keeping your chest open to allow better breathing. Use light, bouncy steps with good arm drive to help power you up the hill. If you run it too hard, you\'ll blow up and need to stop. If the hill gets too steep, do like the elites and power hike! ➡️Run like a child downhill, resist the urge to lean back and break as your fly down. Relax, take small, quick and light steps, using your arm for balance. Try landing on your forefoot and avoid heel striking if you can. ➡️Don’t skip S&C you need to be strong, agile and have good balance so make sure you include plyometrics & single leg work. Trails don\'t have to be mountain passes, local woods, fields, river paths etc are all trails waiting for you to explore! #runonemotion @salomon ad |gifted$
