HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Quite often we set ourselves huge goals and resolutions, only to break them in the first few weeks of Jan and feel disappointed in ourselves and our willpower. This year, although there are a few pretty big goals I have in mind, my main New Year’s Resolution is something that is not exactly quantifiable but is and should be one of our main goals each and everyday.

Making my health a priority.

Over the past few weeks and months, I have been seriously stressed and anxious which has manifested itself in numerous horrible ways- including terrible skin, an angry digestive system, worse than usual migraines, insomnia, grumpiness and sadness. For me, health and happiness go hand in hand. When I feel well, everything seems better. This year I am trying to make decisions that put my health first, starting with sorting out my stress and dealing with my headaches!

Linked to putting my health first, is my second goal;

Do at least one yoga/pilates class a week.

Speaking with Josh at TwentyTwoTraining, he explained the importance of relaxing, stretching and meditating to help release my tension headaches. Scheduling in weekly yoga sessions should help with this, plus it allows me to see a friend and be part of her yoga resolution too!

Also linked to putting my health first is to readjust my diet. My new job involves a lot less cake, but will require more thought and attention in terms of bringing my lunch and snacks with me to work. I am going to aim to

Eat a less processed, more plant based diet.

My final resolutions are more challenges than resolutions.

  • Complete a sprint triathlon
  • Become a more confident cyclist and take part in Ride 100
  • Climb Mont Blanc

Getting to know Sophie and Charley this year I have been so incredibly inspired by their climbing challenges, I would love to take the first steps in learning to climb by tackling this incredible peak in the Summer of 2015 with the help of MaxiNutrition.

What are your goals and New Year’s Resolutions in 2015?

    Mont Blanc is awesome! Go for it! I highly recommend icicle mountaineering – good value and lovely people. Now that I’m moving to milan in feb I’m realky looking forward to taking on more if the Alps.
