Disneyland Paris Half Marathon

Back in April Tom and I were invited to Disneyland Paris to help promote the Disneyland Paris Half Marathon, 10K and 5K festival weekend from 21-24th September 2017. It was an amazing experience. Disney and running – what’s not to like?

Added to the fact that we had an unlimited fast pass to skip the queues on the rides – if only I could sneak one of these on all of our Disney trips. We spent a couple of hours each day in the parks, as well as watching the brand new 25 year anniversary firework show and having dinner with Paula Radcliffe  (where Tom asked for marathon advice!).

The highlight of the weekend for me was getting to run around the parks before they opened to the public alongside Paula Radcliffe. There was a random group of bloggers on the trip and as one of the only running bloggers, Tom and I really made the most of this opportunity. You can watch the video of our run here.

Running down Main St is always magical, and you get to run it during both the 10K and Half Marathon races.

The 5K race is an evening family run through Walt Disney Studios on the Friday, followed by a post-race partay! Perfect for those that aren’t looking for a long race, want to make plenty of character stops or just aren’t down for the early race starts of the 10K and Half marathon.

The 10K is the new race and honestly, the route looks AWESOME. This would be my first choice race to take part in over the weekend, taking in both parks with plenty of characters, but won’t trash your legs before a day exploring the parks and rides. Its also one of the only RunDisney races that starts and finishes in a park… epic.

The Half marathon is the BIG event, with a route taking your through both parks, and out into the French countryside, there’ll be plenty of photo opportunities as well as stretches where you can stretch your legs, so to speak.

Or, you can earn an extra medal and tackle all three races! Yep, I would totally be up for that!

Note – none of these races are the ones for you to try and earn your PB at, just enjoy them. Run with friends, stop for photos, high five the spectators and enjoy the magic of Disney!

You can now book your bib only option for any of the races… so sad we can’t take part this year but we’ll be there in 2018 for sure!

You can read about our experience at RunDisney Princess Half and Enchanted 10K in Florida 2015.  I also wrote a post about 10 Things to know before booking a Disney Race that might be helpful!

Spectacular view and good run! It’s like you can see the sneak preview of what’s to offer for that day.
I will always be a Disney fan 🙂
