Boxing Day Sales Picks: Activewear & Casualwear

Dec 27, 2019 | Lifestyle | 2 comments

Apparently over £1bn was spent online on Christmas Day itself this year in the UK, which is both terrifying and sort of understandable as it felt like the *January Sales* started before Christmas this year. And when you’ve stuffed yourself with turkey and you’re tucked up on the sofa waiting for Gavin & Stacey to start, there’s some time to do a spot of online sale shopping.

For the first time ever I joined the bargain hunters on the 25th, purchasing a couple of items from Whistles that I’d had my eye on. However, now that I’ve had a little more time to peruse my fave retailers, I’ve added to my basket and Wishlist.

Boxing Day Sales Picks: Activewear & Casualwear

I have NOT bought everything on this list (don’t worry Mum!) although I have picked up a few items, especially after seeing that it’s actually snowing in Joshua Tree, where we’re headed next week, and a Sherpa Fleece seems like a very sensible purchase.

This includes both activewear and more casual items as I try to expand my wardrobe beyond lycra. Some links are affiliate.

The Runner Beans Sales Picks

Of course I started on the Lululemon website. However, I managed to resist any purchases as I’m off to the US next week and am waiting to see what they have in their stores there. However, here are my top picks;

Lululemon Fast & Free Leggings £64-74

These are my favourite running leggings with side pockets for my phone, money and gels. These Lululemon Speed Up Tight £34  also have the side pockets that make me soo happy!

I get so many questions about my running vest – this is a great, lightweight version in the Lulu sale for £84.

A half-zip is probably the most flattering top for me and this one looks perfect for this time of year. Lululemon Out Run the Elements Half Zip £44. Lululemon Rest Less Mock Neck £44. I actually have the black version from a few seasons ago and wear it a lot!

Lululemon Cover Your Tracks Pants £69.

These are super cute for travelling, post-run lounging and maybe even dressing up slightly for brunch/coffees out. Who am I kidding? I’m always in sports kit no matter the event!

This snap-up sweatshirt from Abercrombie is also similar £32.99 and this Snap-Up asymmetrical fleece is so cute £38.40

Sweaty Betty Sale Constellation leggings

I am obsessed with these Star Constellation leggings from Sweaty Betty £66  and this Breeze Merino long sleeve £59 (the colour I have isn’t in the sale but the light blue is!). These tight cycling shorts are my bag…sadly no side pockets but a bargain for £17.

Sticking with Sweaty Betty, I really like these Reversible Camo print leggings £56

(I have a pair of Camo shorts from Lululemon that I love). Most of my ski thermals are from SB, and it was hard to resist this cute pair – Ski Base Layers £45.  This is also the ideal time to stock up on the Ultra Run Bra £22.

When I asked Tom for trainers for Christmas, he thought I was joking, and said no. To be fair, I do have a LOT of running trainers but what I wanted were casual trainers to wear with jeans, dresses etc. I replaced my gold Superga’s with a Rose Gold pair for half price (£30), I had to ditch the other pair because they smelt so bad having worn them without socks for two years!! I also purchased this pair of star trainers from Dune for half price (£35), Marks and Spencer also have a super cute version (£45).

Whistles Tie Dye Jumper THerunnerbeans sale picks

Do you remember when you used to make your own Tie Dye?

I used to love it and wear my tie dye t-shirts non-stop when I was younger. It’s made a return to my wardrobe with this top that I bought after seeing it on Claire Guentz IG, and I recently bought another one from Whistles in the sale – Blue Tie Dye Jumper £45 also available from John Lewis in smaller sizes.

From New Balance, these leggings are really cute and over half price – Revitalize Tight £42.And this windbreaker (£39) would be useful right now!

Considering the weather is still pretty rubbish here in the UK, snuggly jumpers are still featuring pretty highly on my shopping list. I love the options at & Other Stories including this bright blue rollneck £36.

Still on my shopping list is a pair of black hiking style boots. These ones from Boden have sold out already, as well as a new coat! I probably don’t really need any new sports kit…What is on your shopping list this January?
