Workout wherever you are - Shock Absorber Ultimate Fly Bra

The I’ve been working out recently with my PT David, and he’s had me doing no-weight HIIT workouts that really get the heart rate up, the lungs burning and the muscles working, proof that you really don’t need to be in a gym or have tons of equipment to get a great workout in.

I’ve partnered with ShockAbsorber for this post to show how you can workout wherever you, all you need is your gym kit; trainers, top/bottoms and of course, ladies, you’ll need your sports bra!

Whether you’re a die hard gym goer, fitness enthusiast or a full time runner, there are occasions where your usual mode of exercise just isn’t feasible. It’s not the time to give up on your workout, but the perfect chance to get out of your comfort zone and mix things up a bit.

Utilise what you have – when you start looking you really can workout anywhere… That park bench is perfect for tricep dips, that wall would be great for box jumps/press ups, you can squat and lunge just about anywhere. Hit your local park, run along the riverside and stop for some bootcamp moves, or get to the tube early and utilise the best of the London Underground 😉

Download an app – such as the Nike+, Kayla Itsines, or simply jump on Pinterest and select a workout that suits your time and equipment. Workouts are always scalable to your level, I showed my friend EJ how to do lower impact burpees at the weekend, still brutal but great for those with injuries etc.

I can honestly say this is one of the most comfortable sports bras I’ve ever worn, I actually wore it all day after this shoot (yes I’m a bit gross) and I didn’t feel restricted at all. BRT (Bra Removal Time) was not as needed as it usually is in a sports bra!!

Designed to be super light whilst providing ultimate support, the soft material is 16% lighter than the Shock Absorber Run Bra, and is laser cut, bonded and moulded for comfort. I love that the straps are non slip and the band is brushed elastic to reduce friction and chaffing – especially after suffering some major chaffage over the years.

The bra is ideal for a range of activities, and although the website suggests those with a D+ cup use it for medium intensity activities, I’ve run and gymmed in mine and have found the support to be more than enough as a DD. The bra itself goes from a 32B – 38F.

RUN – you knew this was going to be on here but running is a great workout that requires very little- (except your sports bra!) and is the perfect way to explore a new area when on holiday, working away or visiting a friend. Either join a local parkrun or you could utilise Strava to explore nearby routes (I’m on Strava at Charlie Runner Beans – lets be friends). I’ve actually just signed Tom and I up for a race while we’re on our honeymoon in Santa Monica, CA – although apparently the dolphin shaped medal didn’t sell it to him, my promise of post run brunch did though!

Try a new class – if your regular BodyPump class isn’t available, why not try something else, even a workout completely out of your usual comfort zone. How about a tennis lesson, stand-up paddle boarding session or squash game?! Or look out for a free local workout like November Project or a free run club/class (Nike, Adidas and Asics as well many other companies offer these in London and cities around the world).

Weight Free Workout – I’ve sweated more on some of the no weight circuits in the last few weeks than on heavy weights machines. You don’t need 20Kg+ plates to get your muscles burning. Try the workout below, guaranteed you get a sweat on…

The No Weight Circuit – repeat 3 times with 1 min rest

15 burpees

15 press ups

15 tricep dips

20 knees to elbow on each side

20 sit ups

side plank for 1 min, repeat on other side

I am a 32DD and it’s held up for both running and high impact gym sessions! Not sure how it would be for boobs bigger than mine but def ok for smaller than DD!!
