November Musings

Dec 1, 2015 | Uncategorized | 7 comments

Pinch, punch first of the months, no returns.

Does anyone still do that? No, just me?

November seems to have absolutely flown past in a bit of a blur, and I’ve been a bit quiet on the personal front on the blog, for no particular reason other than I’m not sure I had anything interesting to share.

I’ve had a lot of uni work to do over the last few weeks, including tests, portfolios and essays to hand in. I’m actually not loving my course just at the moment, which can be tough when I feel like I’m sacrificing a lot to be there, but I’m hoping it will get better. I’m disappointed about the lack of actual nutrition that we’re learning about, and especially not loving the focus on low calorie/low fat items that seem to be promoted!

I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned this on here before, but Tom has a new job in Cardiff, so will be spending part of the week there each week. He’s looking at flats that have gyms and swimming pools in the complex which I’m really excited about, plus Cardiff is on the coast so I’m thrilled to do some beach running/walking.

I had a Keratin treatment on my hair to help smooth and straighten my hair, and to get rid of the frizz. After having the treatment in for 40 mins, it is washed out then heat sealed into your hair. The end result is a very soft, healthy looking style that is dead straight. I spent the next 3-4 days unable to tie my hair up or even tuck it behind my ears to avoid kinks, but it is so worth it. I am obsessed with the sleek finished product, now I can literally ‘wash and go’, no need for styling! I’ve just saved myself hours!

Will do a full post on this but for now here’s a pic of my on day 4….

Keratin no hair wash

I’m a bridesmaid in 3 weddings next summer which has meant wedding dress shopping and hen do arranging. I cannot wait to watch so many of my friends get married in the next year, although the ‘always the bridesmaid, never the bride’ jokes from my family are getting a little annoying! We’ve also got one of my best friend’s weddings this weekend which will be fun to catch up with my Leeds uni friends and celebrate Ed’s wedding. Expect from dress/drunk photos from the weekend on social media 🙂

I can’t wait until Christmas, we are buying our tree today, the advent calendars are out and the countdown is on. I’m taking part in #adventrunning or more likely an #adventfitness this month, where you run or workout every day until Christmas to keep you motivated through December. I’m even planning on going for a short run on Christmas day! I joined the King’s Road Nike Run Club last night which was a lot of fun and got my hands on a ‘RUNNER’ t-shirt that I’ve been lusting after for weeks!

Love your new t-shirt 🙂 and I’m also very excited (as ever) about it being the 1st of December and the consequent hanging up of the advent calendar! Just need to get some sweeties now to fill it with…

Hang in there with the course. It may change over time and you just need to keep thinking of the long term goal. It’s a sacrifice now but it’ll be so worth it when you’re all qualified!! It’s tough though, I sympathise.

And I also sympathise about the whole wedding joke thing. I feel like people are always asking you when you’re….going to get engaged, get married, have a kid (that’s the most intrusive) and then have a second kid!! Grrr.
